Beauty through the mind...

How hypnosis enhances beauty

Perhaps you are asking yourself how hypnosis can be used to enhance beauty. Well, in various other articles on the page, we have explained how the mind can affect your body. In particular the mind affects the stress response which causes most forms of ageing. Also we know that feeling younger actually can make your body begin to be younger and full of beauty.

Hypnosis provides a relatively quick way to communicate to the part of your mind that controls your body. There are many functions of your body that you are just not conscious of. For example, a part of your mind controls skin repair after a cut. It controls regeneration of cells, your digestion, your muscles allowing you to walk and hundreds of other things that you consciously just take for granted most of the time. These things also include those things that affect your beauty - unused muscles lead to lack of facial tone and poor posture. Skin ages with stress. Hair goes grey with stress.

In hypnosis, we ask the unconscious mind to use its ability to make new cells to make you younger and enhance your beauty. However we also have to ask it to re-write the cellular memory. When we say cellular memory, what we mean is that cells pass on information fromn old cells to new cells. To take an example, if our skin is constantly regenerating, then how is it that scars do not simply disappear when the skin cells are replaced. There is an increasing amount of scientific research showing how cells pass information between them and hold onto memories of the past. For more information read Deepak Chopra's Quantum Healing, or Molecules of Emotion by Candace Pert.

Research on the mind-body link is beginning to explain some of the results that hypnosis has shown in the beauty arena over the years. Besides highly accepted benefits in areas like stopping smoking and weight loss, leading hypnotists have been successfully using hypnosis to change body shape. The best documented area of growth is Breast Enlargement, where a number of studies have shown an average growth of 1.5 inches in breast circumference (Murphy, 1992 pp336-7). Leading hypnotists have begun to use similar techniques for other beauty related issues, such as scar removal, increasing height, muscular growth, posture change and hair growth. In theory all of these are possible, and the results seem to bear this out, albeit little academic research has yet been published. We think that these applications are merely the tip of the iceberg and that the use of the mind to enhance your beauty through hypnosis will become the safest and most effective treatment available.
